I post book reviews occasionally on this blog, but they only make up a small proportion of the books I read. In this series, I’ll give you a glimpse into a few volumes I’m reading at the moment.

The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis
Since I finished re-reading Harry Potter, I’ve moved on to another favourite fantasy series. These books are always a delight and they kindle my love for Christ.

A Quest for Godliness: The Puritan Vision of the Christian Life by J.I. Packer
I always like having some Puritan writing on the go. Packer has been deeply shaped by the Puritans, so he gives us a compelling introduction to them.

Growing Together: Taking Mentoring Beyond Small Talk and Prayer Requests by Melissa B. Kruger
I’ve just start reading this to assess whether I want to buy a couple more copies and work through them with others for discipleship. That’s what Kruger intends for her book—it’s not just a book about mentoring, but rather a tool to facilitate mentoring.

Lewis on the Christian Life: Becoming Truly Human in the Presence of God by Joe Rigney
My writer’s guild is reading this book together. I think it will complement my Narnia re-read nicely. The highlights on my Kindle app are getting a bit unwieldy because there’s so much gold here!

What Editors Do: The Art, Craft, and Business of Book Editing by Peter Ginna (ed.)
I’m considering a career in editing, so I’m on a quest to learn as much as I can about the industry and work. This book looks like a great introduction, covering the role of editors in everything from acquisitions to publishing.
